Wellship Foundation Certificate
Course Description:
A one-day course designed specifically for seafarers and support staff. This will develop their understanding and role within their management systems that will promote wellness and safety.
Course Objectives:
By the end of the course, participants should be able to implement, manage and determine the health and mindfulness policies of their organisation. Specific objectives include:
1. Knowledge and understanding of Communication, Problem solving and methods of influencing Projects.
2. An understanding of triggers in relation to anxiety, depression, suicide, relationships and the effect of Human Elements on Safety.
3. An overview of the differences between Strategic, Tactical and Operational Goals and methods of influencing and implementing corporate values.
Prerequisites:
Participants are expected to have a keen interest in the subject areas.
Method of Study:
A One-day course that is interactive and classroom based. It provides the confidential opportunity for participants to openly discuss known or perceived issues and to develop methods of thinking that can enable and facilitate change within their organisations.
Assessment:
In-class continuous assessment plus Student syndicates will be expected to deliver a 5 min presentation on the Learning Outcomes and how these can be applied to their respective organisations.
Modules:
The course comprises of eight modules covering ISO 45001, Change management methodology and an understanding of the difference between strategic and tactical planning for the continuous improvement of crew welfare, safety and health.
Accreditation:
On successful completion, the participants will receive a Foundation Certificate in Wellship. As Continued Professional Development, it is recommended that the Foundation Certificate be refreshed after 36 months (3 Years).
